EMS / K-Packet service suspended to Middle East and select countries
Due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, Korea Post has suspended EMS and K-Packet services to Algeria, Bahrain, Israel, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and several other destinations. Please use DHL Express or FedEx for these countries. Check the Logistics Updates tab for the full affected country list.
Important: Enhanced customs product name checks — avoid shipping delays
We have strengthened product name verification on all outbound forwarding applications. Vague descriptions such as 'gift', 'goods', or 'item' will be flagged and your shipment placed on hold until the correct product name is provided. Please use specific English product names (e.g. 'Men's Cotton T-Shirt', 'Ceramic Coffee Mug') to prevent delays.
U.S.-bound shipments: temporary 10% tariff in effect until July 2026
A temporary 10% additional import tariff (Section 122) was introduced in the U.S. from 24 February 2026 for 150 days. To protect customers from unexpected clearance costs, our DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service to the U.S. maintains a 15% buffer rate. DDU (recipient pays duties) is also available for customers who prefer to manage duties directly.
Warehouse storage fee update: KRW 150/box/day from 1 May 2026
From 1 May 2026, storage fees for parcels held beyond the 60-day free period will increase from KRW 100 to KRW 150 per box per day. We will send reminder emails at 50 days. Please dispatch or arrange your shipments promptly to avoid unnecessary fees.
